Sidewalk

Sidewalks in most residential areas are footpaths. In the dream, the sidewalk is usually more like a yellow brick road like in Wizard of the Emerald City and is meant to help you stay on track.

The sidewalk is interesting, because sometimes it leads to places that you cannot find in the neighborhood. It leads to mountains, caves, volcanoes, etc. Sometimes it leads to the next scene so that the story taking place in the dream can continue.

As silly as the appearance of the sidewalk may seem, it is simply a method used by your unconscious to allow the plot of the dream to unfold (much like using a well-known object or face as a bridge between story elements). It should be recognized that the appearance of a sidewalk as a significantly significant symbol for the interpretation of a dream rarely happens, more often the sidewalk is simply part of the general appearance of the street. Does the sidewalk lead to a place where sidewalks don't normally lead? Is the sidewalk or road you're walking familiar with or just a prototype of a sidewalk?
