Captivity

Captivity - You are held captive, locked in a room, or held against your will. Dreams with such a theme are very significant. And what is especially remarkable about them is our attitude, reaction to captivity. We can try to escape, reconcile, even help the "invaders". Behavior largely depends on who keeps us and why. If you favor someone you know, you probably feel that person has so much control over your life that you have no choice but to obey them. Followers of Freud would certainly say that a dream about captivity, especially in a small room, reflects the image of an authoritative mother who has shown us, or is a foreshadowing the return to the mother's womb. And supporters of Jung's views would interpret captivity as an obstacle to the transition to the next level of adulthood. Then the person who will be most affected by such an inner growth of the captive becomes the person who captivates you.

Being a hostage in a dream is a symbol of the eternal cosmic struggle between good and evil. You can become a hostage to circumstances beyond your control, sacrifice yourself to end the conflict or fight for the right cause. Most likely, the essence of this dream is not completely clear, but it is much more important which of the accomplices or friends is in captivity with you. An important point for interpretation is your relationship with others.
